@figsandginger I like to use this stuff. The directions are a little hard to follow but I think it makes a nice tea. 😄
Had to take time out to etch a large batch of boards. Dang this takes a lot of time. On top of that, when I was a kid I had to walk to school uphill hill in the snow. …both ways.
Inside Adrian Belew’s sound design studio. It’s hard to see but 2 pedals over from his assistants head is a (Retro Mechanical Labs) Electron Fuzz Custom! Adrian Belew has played with so many great musicians and has a really great studio. I hope that our pedal makes it on to something incredible. Very interested to hear Adrian’s new project called “Flux” #nin #bowie #zappa #kingCrimson #CrimsonProjekct
Being in a relationship you need to know what to set your sensitivity at. “Zero” probably won’t work. Not that I’m an expert but I’ve tried all those settings.
Little Retro Boost/overdrive. Works as a clean boost, flip the toggle and it’s an overdrive. Added a diode clipping mod for fun. The mod scoops out some low end and makes it a bit fuzzier. This one is sold. But I’ve got 2 more mini wood boxes ready to go. It’s a smaller box. Top panel is 4.5”x6”. About the size of a 1790 enclosure. If you want one of the remaining two slated for production e mail: email@example.com #retro #boost #overdrive #portlandia #portland #gearslut #guitar #meter #music #gearwire #studioporn ##vintage
Pay no attention to my dirty fingernails. I’ve been staining wood. :). Work on the filter continues! So far the Moog-ish side sounds pretty good. Needs some serious overdrive. @robotthirteen
Very interesting precision wire wound resistors from old ESi decade resistor units. Very large and rare. Everyone of them tests to the exact ohm. Once harvested they are used in the Trouble Shooter. Your Audio signal passes through the very fine wire wrapped around a mica wafer. People talk about carbon vs. metal film resistors. This is something completely different. Wouldn’t mind knowing more about the history of these. Had a hard time finding much info at all. They take up a lot of space and won’t fit in an aluminum enclosure.
Skinny Puppy in Portland. Masters of the weird. Probably not to everyone’s liking but they put on an incredible show. Electronic music with live drums and keyboards. Lots of props and crazy costumes. #skinnypuppy #portland #industrial #wonderballroom
Since a power outage is in the way of me doing anything productive this evening please enjoy this photo. Some old ham radio guy kept his parts in these old boxes. They all look the same! Could be kinda confusing. And….Good thing I’ll be going to see Skinny Puppy tonight cause it would suck to sit in the dark for the rest of the evening. Wonder if @jackdeville has power?
